Target Has Matching Family Outfits and We Don't Know How to Feel Is this the best or worst idea ever?Parents are praising the new Genuine Kids additions from OshKosh for being more stylish than tacky and making outfit selections for family photo shoots or trips a whole lot easier. With this new collection, parents can even satisfy their urges to find twinning clothes for siblings (while not traumatizing or embarrassing the kids). And, because Target really gets us, all the items are pretty affordable, ranging from $10.99 to $49.99.

Why are we trying to turn out children into mini adults at every turn ?” Some parents agreed that it wasn’t appropriate for toddlers to wear bikinis . “Why does a three year old girl need to cover her chest?” one poster wrote.

The debate: Should you let your daughter wear a bikini ? Two parents face off on the topic of kids and bikinis . As she grows into a young woman, I want her to remember that her mind is — and has always been — a greater asset than her body.

The Mumsnet user explained that while she wouldn't 'bat an eyelid' if she saw a toddler running around naked or in their underwear, she feels dressing little girls in bikinis amounts to turning them into 'mini adults'.

The mother, known only by her username as GoodAfternoonSeattle, posted: 'Why does a 3 year old need something to cover their chest on the beach or at the pool??'

I'm 180 Pounds, I'm Wearing My Bikini to the Beach, and I Don't Care What You Think

I'm 180 Pounds, I'm Wearing My Bikini to the Beach, and I Don't Care What You Think As summer approaches, we hear about how we should be working on our beach bodies and slimming down. Well, I'm over it. Society tells us that we should only be comfortable wearing a swimsuit if we have the "perfect body." As Summer approaches, we hear about how we should be working on our beach bodies and slimming down. Well, I'm over it.

Elizabeth Ashley said I totally agree that kids shouldn't be sexualized they're growing up way too fast and parents are letting their little girls wear bras and makeup before they need to. But one question, what' s wrong with a short wedge heel?

Step Two : If she persists, let her wear the bikini . She ' s at exactly the age when she starts to become sexually active. Now is the time to let her start taking baby steps into the adult world. let her wear a little makeup that you help her pick out, so it's appropriate.

While some Mumsnet users agreed that bikinis for little girls are 'all wrong', not all parents welcomed her criticism, with one fellow mother insisting she was being 'judgy' and said they are 'just for fun'.

GoodAfternoonSeattle asked other parents if she was being unreasonable for holding her belief.

She wrote: 'Personally I prefer my own daughter (who is three) to be covered on the beach so that she doesn't burn. I'd probably put her in one of those swimsuits that's like shorts and tshirt.

'I'd put her in a swimming costume at an indoor pool. I wouldn't bat an eyelid at a preschool aged child running around naked or in pants.

Parents! Quality Time With Kids Trumps Quantity, Says Study

Parents! Quality Time With Kids Trumps Quantity, Says Study If you really think about it Americans like to guilt-trip parents a lot. Our society makes parents feel like they should want to spend every waking moment with their kids. We tell them "they won't be that age for long" to imploreA study published in Journal of Marriage and Family found that the amount of time spent with children between the ages 3 and 11 have no affect on how they will eventually turn out.

She realized her reasons were "selfish," and decided to give into her daughter' s request. Eckard said she doesn't, "want to teach her to put limitations on what clothes she can wear ." But she hesitated when the little girl told her that it was her turn to buy a new bikini .

Some Mumsnet users were in agreement with her, saying they find two pieces for children strange.

After Traveling the World, I Finally Feel Comfortable to Wear Any Bathing Suit I Please

After Traveling the World, I Finally Feel Comfortable to Wear Any Bathing Suit I Please After traveling the world, I no longer self-regulate as harshly as my younger self did.&nbsp;<br>No one ever told me I couldn't wear bikinis, per se. There was no decree from the bathing suit overlords sent to me as a child that said I was only allowed to wear tankinis and wedgie-inducing one-pieces. And yet, that sentiment lived within me from as early as I can remember. It was an assumption, an expectation, a total given, that I could not wear a bikini.

However, some said there was nothing wrong with bikinis, and suggested that those who have problems with them are sexualizing children's swimwear.

One wrote: 'It's only sexualized if you see it that way otherwise it's just an item of clothing.'

Another said: 'I am in my 40s and wore bikinis when I was a little girl. Lots of girls did. They weren’t skimpy/sexualized but were still 2 pieces. And my parents were pretty strict.'

A third agreed: 'Save the judginess for more important stuff, I say.'

How to keep toddlers safe in the sun, according to a pediatric dermatologist .
Stay safe, have fun and don't get burned: A dermatologist spills on everything you need Toting a toddler to the beach means bringing a bunch of toys for the sand, a cooler full of snacks, extra changes of clothes and — don't forget — a good child-friendly sunscreen.Even though applying sunblock to a toddler can feel as hard as wrestling an oiled pig, you need to do it. "Sunburns at an early age are associated with an increased risk of melanoma," said Dr. Kalyani Marathe, a pediatric dermatologist at Children's National Health System in Washington, D.C.
