  Trial beginning for man accused of killing Lebanese neighbor A jury trial is set to begin for a Tulsa man accused of first-degree murder and a hate crime in the slaying of his Lebanese neighbor. Stanley Vernon Majors is expected in district court on Monday morning. The 63-year-old is accused in the August 2016 killing of 37-year-old Khalid Jabara.Prosecutors say Majors fatally shot Jabara after bombarding him with racial insults in a feud with Jabara's family that lasted several years.Majors previously pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and malicious intimidation and harassment, which is Oklahoma's hate-crime law.

NEW YORK — Jury selection began Monday in the trial of a Manhattan nanny accused of murdering two young children in her care, reports CBS New York.

Yoselyn Ortega, 55, is charged with two counts each of first-degree and second-degree murder for fatally stabbing 6-year-old Lucia Krim and her 2-year-old brother Leo on Oct. 25, 2012.

Potential jurors filled out questionnaires about the case.

The notoriety of the case could pose a challenge. It could take as long as two weeks or more to find an impartial jury, CBS New York's Peter Haskell reported.

NEW YORK — The nightmarish case of a nanny accused of stabbing to death two children in her care stunned the family's well-to-do neighborhood and caused legions of parents to wonder how well they know who is watching their kids .

According to reports the 50 year old nanny Y.O. has been accused of stabbing the 6 year old girl and 2 year old boy in October of last year. When the mother returned home from their outing she discovered the bloody bodies of her two oldest children

The children were found in a bathtub by their mother when she returned home to the family's luxury apartment building on Manhattan's upper west side. Each had been stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife, police said.

Ortega had stabbed herself in the neck before police arrived. She was hospitalized for weeks.

The court found her mentally fit to stand trial but her defense will try to raise doubts.

Police said Marina Karim and her 3-year-old child returned to their luxury New York City apartment building on Oct. 25, 2012, where she found her 6-year-old daughter, Lucia, and her 2-year-old son, Leo, stabbed to death in a bathtub. Their nanny, 50-year-old Yoselyn Ortega, lay wounded nearby with self-inflicted stab wounds. Police said a kitchen knife was close by and Ortega is suspected of killing the children, who were pronounced dead at a hospital. Accused nanny killer spurns judge's instructions during hearing .
A man accused of killing a Winter Park nanny argued with a federal judge during a brief hearing Tuesday morning and challenged her instructions to stop writing letters to judges.
