The six-count indictment claims that 24 alleged MS-13 gang members engaged in murders, conspiracies to commit murder, attempted murders, kidnapping, extortion, robbery, money laundering and drug trafficking from 2015 through 2017 in Maryland, according to the statement from July 2.

The MS-13 gang is a national and international gang that originated from El Salvador and recruits immigrants from the country. In Maryland, the gang is prominent in counties like Frederick County, Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County and Montgomery County, according to the statement.

The accused are listed as: Jorge Raul Guerra Castillo, “Pelon,” age 36; Carlos Hernandez Diaz, “Positivo,” age 25; Milton Portillo Rodriguez, “Little Gangster,” and “Seco,” age 23; Juan Carlos Sandoval Rodriguez, “Picaro,” age 19; Francisco Ramirez Pena, “Tepo,” and “Advertencia,” age 24; Jose Alberto Sibrian Garcia, “Chango,” age 26; Darwin Arias Mejia, “City,” and “City Boy,” age 25; Miguel Lopez Abrego, “Timido,” age 30; Albaro Rosa Moreno, “Slow,” age 23; Ervin Arrue Figureoa, "Tricky,” age 19; Ronald Mendez Sosa, age 20; Edwin Ruiz Urrutia, “Sylvestre,” age 19; Brenda Argueta Argueta, “Prima,” age 19; Carlos Ventura Morales, “Pantaya,” age 30; and Danny Hernandez Solorzano, “Titre,” age 20.

Samuel Diaz-Ramos, “Pequeno,” age 32, has been also charged with money laundering conspiracy.

Authorities in Long Island, New York, are currently searching for a teenager who has been missing for 13 days. The teen’s family believes the 19-year-old may have had ties to the MS-13 gang, which could have caused his disappearance.
