Denhad "Danny" Taiedi, 75, was killed on May 27, 2016, during an attempted robbery at the Jefferson Hills Motel, which Taiedi owns, on Route 51 in Allegheny County, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

An arrest warrant was issued for Derrick L. Gallaway, 61, charging him with homicide, robbery, weapons violations, theft and tampering with evidence, officials said.

Since Gallaway has ties to California and other states, the U.S. Marshall began searching for Gallway.

A U.S. Marshall's task force received information that Gallaway was in a hospital facility in Sacramento, investigators said.

Gallaway was taken into custody about 5:30 a.m. and was booked into the Sacramento County Jail where he will await extradition.
