The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday. The series hails from executive producer, writer, and director Ann Druyan, Sagan’s widow and one of the writers on the original 1980s series.

On Friday, Kelly made amends for her words, stating that she "would never encourage [body- shaming ] toward any person" while revealing that she 's personally struggled with her weight, noting that her " entire family is or has been overweight , or obese." See photos of Megyn Kelly

Megyn Kelly sent the internet into a tizzy Thursday after she told a fitness blogger that some women 'want to be .@ megynkelly I was severely fat shamed ( bullied -yes it’s bullying Megan !) through high school. Yes. The reason I am overweight in the first place is because I LOVE THE FAT .

Megyn Kelly is backtracking in regards to her statements on fat-shaming.

During an interview Thursday on Todaywith fit mom Maria Kang – best known for her “No Excuses” campaign and on the show to discuss her revised stance, which includes encouraging moms to identify their reasons for working out— Kelly made a controversial comment.

“You should parlay the shaming thing into a professional business. Because some of us want to be shamed,” said the host. “When I was in law school, I was gaining weight, I said to my stepfather, ‘If you see me going into that kitchen one more time, you say, ‘Where you going, fat a–?’ And it works!”

George Clooney will star in and produce Catch-22 for Hulu

George Clooney will star in and produce Catch-22 for Hulu George Clooney is headed to Hulu. Clooney will executive produce and star in Catch-22, a six-part limited series based on the novel of the same name. Here’s the official word from Hulu: “Catch-22 is the story of the incomparable, artful dodger, Yossarian, a US Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he’ll be in violation of Catch-22, a hilariously sinister bureaucratic rule which specifies that a concern for one’s own safety in the face of dangers which are real and immediate is the process of a rational mind; a man is considered insane if he willingly continues to fly dangerous combat missions, but a request to be removed from duty is evidence of sanity and therefore makes him ineligible to be relieved from duty.” Clooney will direct the series, which will go into production sometime this year. He will also play Col. Cathcart. “Catch-22 is a rare story that has withstood the test of time, not only as a literary masterpiece, but as a story that still resonates in today’s political and social conversation,” said Hulu chief content officer Joel Stillerman in a statement.

“I said something yesterday on the show that clearly struck a nerve, and I think it’s a conversation we need to have openly,” Kelly said. “We were discussing body shaming others, something I absolutely do not support. In fact, quite the opposite.”

Kelly went on to confess that her “entire family is or has been overweight or obese.” She shared that her sister was, at one point, over 300 lbs. and had gastric bypass surgery, and that when she was 6 years old, she came home “in tears” after a neighbor called her mom “fat.”

“It was the first time I ever say my mother through that lens and it was my first lesson about the lens through which most of this country judges heavy people,” Kelly said. “A brutal and unforgiving one.”

The mom-of-three confessed that she began to struggle with her own body issues.

“By the time I got to middle school, the hormones and the weight kicked in. I was chubby, by any standard and soon I found myself on the wrong side of some vicious bullies,” Kelly shared. “Ones who called me fat, and made fun of my backside, who subjected me to humiliating pranks. Those comments can cut deep, trust me, I know. Soon there were diet pills and obsessive exercise and I had reduced my calorie intake to 500 calories a day. My heart was racing all day, my hair and skin were dry but I was thin. And so unhappy. I was scared of gaining weight because of the insane standard this country holds its women to and because I was and remain afraid of dying in my 40’s, which happened to my father.”

Modern Family Co-Creators Say ABC Series Will Likely End After Season 10

Modern Family Co-Creators Say ABC Series Will Likely End After Season 10 Sad news Modern Family fans: the end is (most likely) nigh! In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd — co-creators of the popular ABC sitcom — revealed that they “can’t imagine” the series continuing after season 10. “Our plan is to end it at 10,” Levitan said. “If we can leave with most of our audience wanting more, I think that’s the right way to do it.” Although Levitan admitted that the decision to wrap up the series hadn’t been set in stone, he went on to say, “I just can’t imagine that we’d go past that.” The show — which is about to celebrate it’s 200th episode on Wednesday — is currently on its 9th season. Lloyd — who previously worked as a writer and executive producer on the popular series Fraiser — revealed that the pair had already begun thinking of “loose ideas” for how to end the series. “We went through these questions on Frasier, when we brought that around after 11 seasons and sort of said, ‘Well, the Shakespearean route on that is a birth, a death or a wedding,’ and we managed to effectively do all three in the final episode,” Lloyd continued. “So it may be some conversation that starts there, but we haven’t figured out the episode we’re doing three weeks from now,” he added. “It’s just a little over a year and a half from now. We’ve got time to think about that.” Modern Family stars Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ariel Winter, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland and Ed O’Neill.

Kelly explained that, “as an adult I’ve gotten healthier in my approach to eating, but I like every woman I know, still wrestle with body image, and still cringe when I hear a person attacked for his or her weight.”

She continued: “Please know, I would never encourage that toward any person. I’ve been thinking a lot about why I once encouraged it toward myself. What I know for sure is that weight is an issue for millions of people, thin and heavy alike. And neither deserves to be judged or shamed for how they choose to handle that struggle.”

Jane Fonda pokes fun at Megyn Kelly after Lily Tomlin facelift joke .
Remember a few months ago when Megyn Kelly asked Jane Fonda a super awkward question about plastic surgery? Fonda sure does. Fonda and Lily Tomlin appeared on Today on Tuesday to talk about the upcoming return of Grace and Frankie — and crack a few jokes at each other’s expense. When Hoda Kotb asked the pair how long they’d known each other, Tomlin turned to Fonda and joked, “I think before your first facelift.” As Kotb and co-host Savannah Guthrie dissolved into laughter, Fonda replied, “Who are you, Megyn Kelly?” In September, Fonda and Robert Redford appeared on one of the first episodes of Megyn Kelly Today, where the host asked Fonda about her history with plastic surgery. Fonda shut her down with a curt response, telling Kelly, “We really want to talk about that right now?” In later interviews, Fonda opened up about how she thought it was inappropriate for Kelly to ask the question when she and Redford were there to promote their Netflix movie, Our Souls At Night. “Given the fact that we don’t have a lot of time and Bob is right here, it was a weird thing to bring up — whether I’ve had plastic surgery or not,” she toldET Canada. “I have and I’ve talked about it. But it just seemed like the wrong time and place to raise that question.
