The screenplay winners, in particular, are often a harbinger for who may win at the Academy Awards, which will air March 4 on ABC. Here are some of the night’s victors at the awards ceremony, held simultaneously in Los Angeles (where Patton Oswalt hosted) and New York.

Half the people voted for Trump and half didn’t. It ’ s just realistic,” Barr told When pushed about why Barr — or her character — would not see Trump ’ s xenophobia as a disqualifier for the presidency , Barr responded that she’s not a Roseanne Barr on Why Her Character Is a Trump Supporter.

Roseanne Barr is explaining, again, why her onscreen counterpart in the upcoming revival of her late-80s and early-90s hit show Roseanne will be a President Donald Trump supporter.

"He talked about jobs, so that's what you need to do if you want working people to vote for you. Not Syrian airspace," Barr says in a clip for her upcoming 20/20 special, "Roseanne Returns," airing Thursday night. "And I don't think Hillary talked about jobs much. She was always just talking about Syrian airspace. Do you think people in America are – maybe they do, I didn't, though."

Barr announced that her character would be pro-Trump in January, which came as no surprise given the creator's own outspoken support of Trump. At the Television Critics' Association winter press tour, Barr said, "It was working-class people who elected Trump, so I felt like that was very real and something that needed to be discussed and especially about polarization in the family and people actually hating other people for the way they voted, which I feel is not American."

Jerry Seinfeld teases Seinfeld revival is 'possible'

Jerry Seinfeld teases Seinfeld revival is 'possible' For anyone hoping Seinfeld will go the way of Roseanne, Will & Grace, and Murphy Brown with its own revival, Jerry Seinfeld has two words that are gonna make you freak. “It’s possible,” he told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show. Just like that, the comedian sent the audience into fits of applause, but let’s get real. When talking aboutSeinfeld‘s future potential last year with ET, Seinfeld remarked, “Why? Maybe it’s nice that you continue to love it instead of us tampering with something that went pretty well.” Perhaps Seinfeld changed his tune. Perhaps there is a possibility of the hit sitcom (currently available on Hulu) becoming the latest to join the TV revival bandwagon. (Stranger things have happened.) Just don’t hold your breath. Seinfeld is currently working on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and he went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to reveal the titular talk show host on his series. “On my show, I like to tell people what to do,” he explained of his comic guests. “They tell me what’s going on in their life, and I go, ‘Well, I’ll tell you what I think you should do.’ And I said to you, ‘Would you like my advice about [wife] Portia [de Rossi] getting another horse?’ … And Ellen did not want my advice, but she was just trying to be nice, so she went, ‘Eh, okay,’ the way only she can do it.

Trump calls decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israeli capital a high point of his presidency . Editorial cartoon depicts 'Dreamers' as gun-toting gang members committing a crime. During a Q&A portion of the event, Barr explained to reporters that it just makes “sense” for her character, Roseanne Conner

Actress and comedian Roseanne Barr delivered a spontaneous but since-deleted rant on Twitter this week in which she passionately articulated why she voted for and continues to support President Donald Trump .

But in her 20/20 special, Barr also elaborates on why that same polarization provided an opportunity for her show's ABC revival.

"Trump offended half of America and she [Clinton] offended the other half, so that's great for sitcoms," Barr says. "It's great for comedy. We're lucky to have him as a president, it's great for comedy."

In addition to discussions with Barr, 20/20's "Roseanne Returns" will feature interviews with fellow original and returning cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman and Sarah Chalke, who will reflect on the show's original nine-season run on ABC and preview the upcoming revival.

Executive producers Whitney Cummings and Bruce Helford, as well as former guest stars George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaptrio and Ellen DeGeneres, are also set to appear on ABC's 7 p.m. PT special.

The Roseanne revival is set to premiere March 27 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC.
