(AP) -- Kyle Busch led a strong qualifying effort for Toyota, turning a lap of 158.954 mph to win the pole at Led by Busch, Toyota had the first four drivers Friday in the qualifying session. Martin Truex Jr. was second, followed by Daniel Suarez and Matt Kenseth. Busch, Suarez and Kenseth are all winless this season for Joe Gibbs Racing.Erik Jones was seventh and JGR's Denny Hamlin was 10th to give Toyota six of the top 10.

  Dale Jr.'s race ends early with broken transmission Dale Earnhrdt Jr. has problems shifting in his No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet for the second day in a row.After completing Stage 1 of the Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway, Earnhardt began Stage 2, and when he did, he missed a shift on the 3,740-foot-long frontstretch. Earnhardt attempted to shift from third to fourth gear, but instead got second gear.

  Johnson, McMurray destroy cars in hard wrecks at Pocono The red flag was shown at Pocono on Lap 97 after a pair of wrecks by Jimmie Johnson and Jamie McMurray.Johnson was running seventh when a brake issue caused him to serve into the grass, up the track and into the wall, slamming first the right rear of his car then the front-right side. The collision with the wall at over 125 mph took a toll on Johnson, who needed to sit on the track with medical officials before climbing into an ambulance for further evaluation at the infield care center.
