PATERSON, N.J. -- A vehicle registered to a Paterson woman missing since December was discovered with a body in the back seat Sunday morning, according to prosecutors. CBS New York writes that Shanaya Coley, 24, was last seen leaving her apartment for work at a health facility around 11 p.m. Dec. 5.

Police said Coley may have been carjacked or kidnapped.

Her father, Willie Coley, said in December there was blood near the spot where her Nissan Altima was parked.

"There was blood in a couple of places, but we don't know whose blood it was. Don't know whose blood is in the grass and on the walkway," he said.

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says a Spokane woman missing since December was found dead . KENNEWICK, Wash. - Authorities say a 2-year-old boy died after he wandered into the Yakima River while his father was asleep.

On Sunday, the Passaic County Prosecutor's office said police received a call from a concerned citizen regarding an unattended car left in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Paterson.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Coley's charcoal grey Altima and discovered what appeared to be a body in the back seat of the vehicle.

The medical examiner will work to determine the identification of the body.

Dallas police were called to an area near Merriman Parkway on Saturday evening after reports of a body floating at White Rock Creek were called in, according to a news release.Officers pulled what they said was the body of a black, transgender woman, approximately 5’3” and 130 pounds. The unidentified victim was wearing a black shirt and black scrub pants.The body, first discovered by a kayaker, was found “in a severe state of decomposition,” the Dallas Morning News reported citing Dallas police.
