Officials with Kentucky State Police said the shooting was reported around 3:40 p.m. Saturday. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office said deputies found two people dead in the kitchen of a home off McKenzie Branch Road. Deputies said they could not find the suspect, but later received a tip that his vehicle was on Mill Street in Paintsville. Deputies said two additional victims, along with the suspect identified as Joseph Nickell, were found dead inside an apartment. Police said Nickell took his own life after committing the murders. "This has been a horrific murder spree. The lives of four innocent victims were taken. The perpetrator then took his own life. There are no words to describe the heartbreak in seeing four lives taken due to the actions of one man," Sheriff Dwayne Price said. "I have worked in law enforcement for 34 years. This is one of the most disturbing acts of violence I have ever seen.

President Trump was harshly criticized in the media for smiling and giving a thumbs up while visiting victims of the Florida school shooting.

Trump and the first lady visited a hospital near Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida Friday night to comfort the victims and family members of the attack perpetrated by a deranged gunman last week.

A number of photos were released of POTUS and Melania smiling while visiting with staff and families and first responders.

President Trump was harshly criticized for the images, with some saying the grinning was inappropriate for the grim occasion.

However, a look back to the Obama administration shows similar behavior by the then President in the wake of the Aurora Colorado shooting. On July 16, 2015, James Holmes opened fire on a packed theater in Colorado, killing 12 and injuring 70 more.

Obama traveled to Aurora soon thereafter to comfort the families and victims. Obama smiled and hugged the families and victims of the shooting, much like Trump did.

Shootings are tragic events. The gun debate in America rages on. But that should not stop our President from being a human being.

Kimmel Slams Donald Trump Jr., Conspiracy Theorists for Attacking Teenage Shooting Survivors — Watch .
Jimmy Kimmel is calling out right-wing conspiracy theorists — as well as President Donald Trump’s “least favorite son” — for perpetuating actual fake news in the wake of last week’s horrific school shooting in Parkland, Fla. “There are always crackpots in situations like this who come out of the woodwork with [this] irrational, paranoia-filled nonsense. It happened after Sandy Hook, too,” Kimmel said during Wednesday’s monologue. “The right-wing thrives on conspiracy theories: Global warming is a conspiracy, the Russia investigation is a conspiracy, Obama’s birth certificate was a conspiracy, and those are just the big ones.
