  Amazon brings its Echo smart speakers and Music Unlimited service to 28 new countries Amazon is continuing to push its media services worldwide after it expanded its Alexa smart speakers and its standalone Music Unlimited service to an additional 28 countries today. The company took its Prime Video service global a year ago and last month it rolled a Fire TV Stick for over 100 countries, but now the music component of its entertainment services -- which became a standalone service last year -- is getting a wider rollout to this new range of countries across South America and Europe. Initial markets for Echo and Music Unlimited include the U.S. and the UK, with India and Japan among others recently added.

The rumors were true: Amazon ’s video app is finally coming to Apple ’s TV streaming box. Today at WWDC, it was announced that Amazon Prime Video will soon be available for Apple TV .

Amazon previously shunned the Apple TV for years, even declining to submit a Prime Video app to the 4th-gen Apple TV 's App Store. Although users can view iOS Prime videos on Apple TVs via "Airplay," a native Apple TV app was never made available .

The Amazon Prime Video app will let users with a Prime subscription stream Amazon shows such as "The Grand Tour." People will also be able to watch videos purchased or rented from Amazon, along with other free films offered through Prime.

Amazon Prime was one of the last holdouts on Apple TV, which lets outside developers create apps for their streaming service. The lack of access to Amazon's exclusive video content was a drawback and a reason for people to choose other streaming boxes, such as Roku or Amazon's Fire TV.

The launch also marks the end of a sparring match between two tech giants. In 2015, Amazon pulled Apple TVs from its online store. A year later, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that the reason why there was no Amazon Prime Video app was because of Apple's lack of "acceptable business terms," which observers took as a reference to Apple's App Store policy of taking a 30 percent cut of services sold within its apps.

But the two companies seemingly reconciled and made the announcement earlier this year that the streaming video app would eventually land on Apple TV. Amazon's online store briefly listed Apple TV as a product in September, but Amazon does not currently sell Apple's TV box as of Wednesday morning.
