LeSean McCoy expected to play through ankle injury vs. Jaguars

LeSean McCoy expected to play through ankle injury vs. Jaguars The Buffalo Bills are expected to have their star running back on the field for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but how effective he can be remains to be seen. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, LeSean McCoy will play barring a setback in warmups.#Bills RB LeSean McCoy, who will play today despite a gimpy ankle, has watched more film this week than usual to compensate for physical limitations.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 7, 2018McCoy sounded a bit pessimistic about his status earlier in the week, but it would be a surprise if he doesn’t play given what’s at stake.

GM Brandon Beane said it' s "not fair" to judge Taylor on his last game, insisting he'll look at the quarterback' s full season.

The Buffalo Bills are 5-4 and right in the middle of the playoff race. Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor has completed 64 percent of his passes and 10 touchdowns to go along with three interceptions.

Based on comments made by Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane, it’s safe to say Tyrod Taylor isn’t the quarterback of the future in Western New York.

Though Beane refused to divulge specific information about what his plans are going forward, he made it clear the team still hasn’t found its franchise passer, which bodes ill for Taylor’s future with the Bills.

Beane appeared on on WGR 550 and said teams making the playoffs from year to year all have one common trait — they have franchise quarterbacks. He also said the Bills are “still in the process of getting that accomplished.”

Bills' McCoy in starting lineup for playoff game at Jaguars

Bills' McCoy in starting lineup for playoff game at Jaguars Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is in the starting lineup against Jacksonville. McCoy was listed as questionable to play in Sunday's AFC wild-card game after spraining his right ankle in a victory at Miami last week. He was carted off the field, sat out two days of practice and returned in a limited capacity Friday. The big question now is how effective he will be against one of the league's top defenses. McCoy accounted for nearly a third of Buffalo's offensive production in the regular season. The Bills also will have receiver Deonte Thompson (shoulder) available.

Analysis: Taylor saved his fantasy day with a rushing touchdown. He may not be putting up huge numbers , but he is taking care of the football PM EST4:21 PM CT1:21 UAE (+1)17:21 ETNaN: - Tyrod Taylor was 20 of 33 for 268 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Buffalo Bills '

It was another busy day in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills firing head coach Rex Ryan and So let’s look a little closer at the Bills and Taylor ’ s situation. Then ALL the leverage is back with Tyrod , the GM looks (more) incompetent and it looks like the ownership made a mistake in firing Rex.

The general manager also said he’s taken a look at each of the top quarterbacks in the draft and that any decision to spend a top pick on a passer would ultimately come down to him.

“It’ll be a collaborative deal, [but] at the end of the day, it’ll be my decision to make,” Beane said. “Sean and I will talk things out, and we talk out a lot of things. Everyday stuff here, things that happen in the week, in the games, and we talk about those decisions and plan them out. We will go through a lot of those scenarios leading up into the draft, but you do have to have one final voice to make that call. I’ll do that, but everything will be a collaborative [effort]. Sean will be very involved in the process.”

Obviously, the Bills aren’t satisfied with Taylor. All we have to do to acknowledge this is look back at Sean McDermott’s decision to bench Taylor in favor of fifth-round rookie Nathan Peterman earlier this year — an unmitigated disaster, no less — to see the writing on the wall here. It didn’t help Taylor’s cause that he was really off his game in the Wild Card round against Jacksonville.

“ Bills QB Tyrod Taylor had a consultation visit yesterday with Dr. William Meyers and elected to have surgery this morning. This wording is no accident, and could be a very big deal in, oh, exactly 65 days . Looks Like That' s About It For Tyrod Taylor In Buffalo .

After taking a few days to digest Nathan Peterman’ s fart cloud of a debut, Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters this morning that maybe it would be best if Tyrod Taylor started at quarterback on Sunday at the Chiefs.

If the Bills still have Taylor on the roster at the start of the next league year in March, then he’ll be owed a $6 million roster bonus. That’s not happening. The only way Taylor will be on the roster next year is if he re-works his deal to take less. But he already did that before this past season, and we’d be shocked if it happened again.
