However, Croatia might have been the European country to land them if not for one big sticking point.

The old Lakers point guard praises the new one at every turn, though right now Johnson’s love for Lonzo is mostly about projection. Not so coincidentally, the Lakers announced last week that they would emphasize what has been colloquially referred to as “the LaVar Ball rule.”

LaVar Ball (right) congratulates his son Lonzo after he was selected second in the NBA draft by the Lakers . Lakers ? You got LeBron on his way out, [Stephen] Curry on his way out. Everybody’s a superstar now they gonna be old . Now my boys it’s time for the NBA to be carried by the Ball brothers!

The Los Angeles Lakers have patiently worked Lonzo Ball back from a sprained MCL in his left knee with world-class treatment, careful monitoring and an abundance of caution. If LaVar Ball were in Lakers trainer Marco Nunez's shoes, he would have taken a different approach-one that, according to the Big Baller, would've had Zo back to playing NBA basketball well ahead of his current schedule.

"Now if he was with me, he'd be ready to go by now because I'd put him in the hills, go old school, have him do some squats," Ball said in an interview while in London for the Big Baller Brand's pop-up shop. "You ain't going to play through it, but you going to straighten up the real way. He ain't going to straighten up with me rubbing some stuff on your leg. I'm gonna make you go up the hill backwards, driving forward, side to side."

Report: Lonzo expecting child with girlfriend Denise Garcia

Report: Lonzo expecting child with girlfriend Denise Garcia Lonzo Ball is reportedly set to become a father. The Los Angeles Lakers point guard and his longtime girlfriend, Denise Garcia, are expecting their first child together, according to TMZ Sports. The report states that Garcia is four months along in her pregnancy, though there's no word yet on whether it's a boy or girl.

Lonzo Ball and the Lakers looking to recreate Showtime. LaVar Ball long ago predicted this night would come. Actually, he long ago predicted his oldest of three boys would be drafted in Markelle Fultz's spot, the No. 1 Lonzo ? He said he hopes to be half the player his boss was back in the day.

Lonzo Ball fortunately has his Lakers brothers to support him in the face of his boastful dad. Second-year forward Brandon Ingram stood up for Ball on Tuesday after the Wizards’ Marcin Gortat mocked the rookie on behalf of his father LaVar ’s pregame prediction. Old Dominion. 2. LOUISIANA TECH.

To hear LaVar tell it, having Zo run on his injured knee would be done in lieu of having him conduct his cardio work on an assisted treadmill like the Alter-G.

"All you gotta do is pick your feet up. The belt is taking your foot back," the Ballfather added. "I ain't going to put you on no treadmill. How about you go up that hill on your own. If you don't step right, you ain't going nowhere."

LaVar, though, noted that he hasn't had any input in his son's rehab, nor would he try to interfere.

"He's over there in L.A., living the luscious style," he said. "Let them do it their way."

That way will have the eldest Ball boy back in action on Feb. 23 against the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center after a 15-game absence.

And though LaVar's comments here may seem controversial, keep in mind the shift in his tone through the video above. If you've parsed through the Big Baller's interviews as closely as we have, you'll notice how that change aligns with his more bombastic side, which he so often puts on when there are cameras and microphones around.

According to Google, Nick Foles owns the Patriots

According to Google, Nick Foles owns the Patriots If you go to Google search right now and type in “New England Patriots owner,” you’re going to find a rather hilarious answer. Just like we saw a while back when LaVar Ball was plugged in as “NBA founder,” Google is showing Nick Foles as the owner of the Pats right now. Jeff Skversky of 6ABC in Philadelphia was Johnny on the spot. If You Google New England Patriots Owner… Nick Foles Comes Up as Owner!!!! Haha Foles accounted for 4 TDs and OWNED Patriots in Super Bowl LII to Win MVP! pic.twitter.com/Cpg1Ot73I0 — Jeff Skversky 6abc (@JeffSkversky) February 10, 2018 It’s fitting. As Skversky noted, Foles most definitely owned the Patriots in Super Bowl LII. He was an unstoppable force, shredding New England’s secondary and even hauling in a clutch touchdown pass on fourth-and-goal at the end of the second quarter (watch here). We’re not sure how long Foles will be listed as New England’s owner, but we’ll soak in the glorious sight for as long as it lasts.

Whether you agree with his methods or not, it’s hard to argue that LaVar Ball loves his sons and wants them 1. The Lakers pick someone else. Lonzo won’t work out for any other team, LaVar proudly What if they want Fox’s defense and look back at him dominating Ball in the NCAA Tournament?

Lakers head coach Luke Walton acknowledges a target will be on No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball 's back because of LaVar Ball . Yes!" the elder Ball told ESPN not far from where other families and draft picks sat by the stage.

Which is to say, there's no actual indication here that LaVar is going to start meddling in Lonzo's medical affairs. Rather, this is just another case of an involved dad sharing his opinion when asked to do so.
