Who said you can't get the best of both worlds?

More playing time and more money is a win-win for any professional athlete. It looks like Mychal Kendricks will get just that.

According to reports, Kendricks has signed a one-year deal that has a max value of $3.5 million with the Cleveland Browns, where he is expected to start once he straps his helmet on.

10 good players still lingering on the NFL free-agent market

10 good players still lingering on the NFL free-agent market We tend to think of free agency as a “March thing,” but high-quality players continue to linger on the free-agent market as June arrives. Here are 10 who could make an impact somewhere this season…1. QB Colin Kaepernick: We’ve been over this.2. WR Dez Bryant: The three-time Pro Bowler was released by the Cowboys in April at the age of 29. At the very least, he can be a top-end No. 2 target. Look for him to catch on somewhere as an injury replacement in August.3.

This signing marks the end of the awkwardness that followed Kendricks around in Philadelphia for the past few years.

Despite having many productive seasons with the Eagles, it looked like Kendricks was destined for a backup role as Jordan Hicks is back healthy and Nigel Bradham re-signed with the team.

Per a report from Les Bowen, the Eagles were willing to bring Kendricks back, but they wanted him to take a pay cut, which he wasn't willing to agree to.

For the amount of money that Kendricks would have rightfully been demanding due to the production he's brought, the Eagles did not want to pay up if Kendricks would have been in a backup role.

Luckily for the veteran 'backer, he won't have any of those playing time issues with the up and coming Browns.
