Report: Lakers' front office in disagreement about drafting Ball

Report: Lakers' front office in disagreement about drafting Ball Lonzo Ball being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers is apparently still not a done deal. Lonzo Ball being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers is apparently still not a done deal. While that report is not new, there are "some genuine disagreements" in the Lakers' front office over who the team should select, according to ESPN's Chad Ford.

The real problem when people talk about trading the Lakers ' second overall pick for an "All-Star caliber young player" is the pick would not be the only thing the Lakers would likely end up surrendering. Any team parting with a franchise player would almost certainly want at least Julius

Yahoo Lakers Report . The Los Angeles Lakers are one week away from cashing in the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and things are only heating up. The Lakers have received calls from teams interested in trading into the top- two of the draft, but it doesn't sound like any talks have

The Los Angeles Lakers sit in a pretty darn good position heading into the 2017 NBA Draft. They are currently slated to pick second overall with former UCLA standout Lonzo Ball being the likeliest selection there.

With that said, new team president Magic Johnson may very well look to make a splash during the draft itself.

According to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers have taken calls about the second pick. More than that, first-year general manager Rob Pelinka has also made some calls about potentially dealing away the pick.

“The Lakers have been taking and making calls about trading the pick, said a source who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject,” the report read. “They’ve had scenarios presented to them, and offered their own.”

Magic Johnson reportedly ‘in love’ with Markelle Fultz, may try to trade up to No. 1

Magic Johnson reportedly ‘in love’ with Markelle Fultz, may try to trade up to No. 1 As it turns out, the Philadelphia 76ers may not be the only team in hot pursuit of the Boston Celtics’ No. 1 overall draft pick. According to a report by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress on Friday, Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson is “in love” with presumptive top selection Markelle Fultz and could attempt to trade up to No. 1 by offering forward Julius Randle and the No. 2 pick. Givony also adds that Fultz “murdered” a recent workout with the Lakers.Multiple sources have told me that Magic "is in love" with Fultz. May try to move up to #1, possibly with a Julius Randle + #2 pick offer.

A more realistic trade : Moving Nick Young for a second-round pick. Another report that Lakers may not select Lonzo Ball with the No. 2 pick . This time of year there are so many smokescreens by teams that it’s like being at a Cypress Hill concert.

It’s not yet known who the Lakers have spoken with. But the team has been linked to both Jimmy Butler and Paul George in trade scenarios over the past several months. Though, George himself may simply end up signing with the Lakers as a free agent next summer. This has led to reports indicating Los Angeles likely wouldn’t be willing to make a trade for him this summer.

In any event, the next week leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft will surely be interesting in Southern California.

NBA trade rumors: Could Clippers move DeAndre Jordan? .
The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly explored the possibility of trading center DeAndre Jordan, according to Chris Haynes of Haynes reports that the Clippers have checked in with a couple teams regarding interest in the All-Star center.
