  Large truck causes highway havoc during high-speed chase in Texas A stolen tractor-trailer truck caused six accidents and closed a major interstate in Arlington, Texas for hours as it weaved in and out of traffic in a high-speed chase on Friday afternoon, police and media said. The chase on the busy Interstate 30 ended in a fiery crash after covering about 17 miles from downtown Fort Worth to Arlington, police said.The truck driver, who had reached speeds of 100 mph (161 kph), was arrested after police determined he was not armed, having held back for two hours fearing he had a weapon.

The former welterweight champion was airlifted to a medical facility. Matt Hughes was involved in a vehicle accident on Friday morning. Hughes , who held the UFC ’s welterweight belt at various points between 2001-2006, was reportedly airlifted to a medical facility after his truck collided with a train .

Former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes was airlifted for medical treatment from the site of an accident on Friday after his truck collided with a train in Illinois.

According to numerous reports, Hughes was the person injured in the accident when his truck was struck by a moving train around 10:30 a.m. this morning.

UFC president Dana White later confirmed that Hughes had suffered head injuries before being airlifted to a local medical facility for treatment.

“Apparently he has head trauma,” White told ESPN. “His family is traveling to him now.”

As of now, investigators are still trying to identify what caused the crash.

Hughes is a UFC Hall of Famer and multi-time defending welterweight champion, who faced a laundry list of top fighters during his career including wins over Georges St-Pierre and B.J. Penn.

Hughes last fought in the UFC in 2011 before retiring from the sport, although he had hinted at a comeback in recent months.

Pakistan raises death toll to 157 from fuel truck fire .
Pakistani officials say the death toll from a massive fuel truck fire the previous day has risen to 157 as four more of the victims died overnight.The truck was traveling from the southern port city of Karachi to Lahore, the Punjab provincial capital, when the driver lost control and crashed on a highway outside Bahawalpur early Sunday. Scores of villagers rushed to the scene to collect the spilled fuel when the blaze ignited.Dr. Nahid Ahmed at the Nishter Hospital in Multan says the death toll has steadily been rising and reached 157 on Monday. He says 50 more severely burned victims are being treated at his hospital.
