  Report: Celtics might not take Markelle Fultz at No. 1 It’s been assumed by many for a while now that Washington point guard Markelle Fultz will be the No. 1 pick of the 2017 NBA Draft . But maybe that’s a bit hasty, according to a report by Chad Ford of ESPN, who notes the Boston Celtics have a handful of players they’re considering. Per Ford, Fultz is very much still in the mix. However, the Celtics are also considering Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, De’Aaron Fox and Jayson Tatum.This is an interesting report for a couple reasons.

The Los Angeles Lakers are throwing gasoline on their rebuild fire as the team is looking to acquire another first-round pick in Thursday’s draft.

The Lakers already own the second and 28th overall picks, but are initiating talks with multiple lottery teams to get a third first-round pick, according to ESPN, which cited unidentified league sources.

UCLA's Lonzo Ball is expected to be Los Angeles’ pick at No. 2, but Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox and Kansas’ Josh Jackson also have worked out for the team. Later in the lottery, if L.A. acquires another selection, a sharpshooter like Duke's Luke Kennard could be a potential target.
