Fultz jokes about signing with Big Baller Brand, mocks company

Fultz jokes about signing with Big Baller Brand, mocks company "I was thinking about it."While Ball had the more successful season in collge, Fultz has done his part to fuel a rivalry that will carry into the NBA. Last week, Fultz signed a shoe contract with Nike, but he had joked that he considered signing with LaVar Ball's Big Baller Brand. The brand released a $495 pair of ZO2 sneakers, which weren't even ready in time for Lonzo's Lakers workout.

Report says Fultz considered signing with BBB. Markelle Fultz , the projected #1 overall pick in the June 22nd NBA Draft, inked a sneaker endorsement deal wit "I was thinking about it, but then I would make him money, though," regarding the Big Baller Brand .

Top NBA draft prospect Markelle Fultz already signed a deal with Nike, but he reportedly at least entertained the notion of signing with Big Baller Brand While Ball already said he feels like he is a better player than Fultz back in March, via Boren and Babb, the Washington guard said "we just

5 Markelle Fultz Reportedly Signs with Nike. Markelle Fultz agreed to a multiyear shoe deal with Nike last week, but the projected No. 1 overall pick was reportedly considering other offers from adidas, Under Armour and Big Baller Brand .

Markelle Fultz Considered Signing With Big Baller Brand Before Nike Deal. Nothing has changed when it comes to his latest project Grateful. To get Jay-Z and Beyonce, arguably the biggest stars in hip-hop, to be a part of "Shining," though is almost out of this world.

Markelle Fultz is almost certainly going to be the first overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, with the Sixers having traded up with Boston for the pick in a blockbuster deal over the weekend. As with most surefire top picks, Fultz has already inked a deal with an athleticwear company; last week, he signed a multiyear deal with Nike:

As with all these prospects, Fultz had multiple companies courting him, but it might come as a surprise to learn which other company Fultz was considering, if only briefly:

Lonzo and LaVar Ball’s Big Baller Brand.

That’s according to this report from The Washington Post, which says Fultz did indeed consider that option, if only briefly:

Most talent evaluators put Fultz ahead of Ball anyway, and they’re both point guards, so the Celtics probably will take his advice. Can Big Baller Brand really afford to wait around a year while Lonzo heals? Maybe he really is the best Here’s what the Big Baller Brand website says about the ZO2

Shortly after announcing the deal, Fultz retweeted a tweet that said he should have signed with Big Baller Brand — the company run by LaVar Ball, the father of Lonzo Ball, who's projected to be the No. 2 overall pick.

In an exchange relayed by The Post’s Babb, the young prospect discussed the idea with his trainer, Keith Williams:

Williams: You sure you don’t want to sign with them?

Fultz: I was thinking about it, but then I would make him money, though.

Williams: Or lose them more money.

[Babb asks if there was serious consideration for Team Fultz to join Big Baller Brand]

Fultz: I don’t know, honestly.

Williams: I don’t think they’ve got money to sign nobody.

Can you imagine if this had happened? The two players have been semi-rivals, although they haven’t exactly been head-to-head, aside from one regular season Pac-12 game last year where they finished with similar stats. Ball has only worked out for the Lakers, while Fultz has made a few different visits throughout the pre-draft process, but he’s going to the Sixers now anyway.

Of course, the idea of Big Baller Brand, at this stage (or, let’s be honest, any stage in the future) having the money to compete for non-family members just sounds absurd. They could always potentially offer equity, but it’s difficult to compete with a company like Nike. Why would a prospect hitch their respective marketing wagon to an unproven brand run by a guy who talks and acts like LaVar Ball?

Report: Celtics might not take Markelle Fultz at No. 1

Report: Celtics might not take Markelle Fultz at No. 1 It’s been assumed by many for a while now that Washington point guard Markelle Fultz will be the No. 1 pick of the 2017 NBA Draft . But maybe that’s a bit hasty, according to a report by Chad Ford of ESPN, who notes the Boston Celtics have a handful of players they’re considering. Per Ford, Fultz is very much still in the mix. However, the Celtics are also considering Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, De’Aaron Fox and Jayson Tatum. This is an interesting report for a couple reasons.

Before Nike deal, Markelle Fultz was ‘thinking about’ signing with LaVar Ball’s Big Baller Brand . LaVar Ball is a reality show just waiting to happen. Not Ebony Fultz . “It’s just an upbringing kind of thing,” she says .

Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball have been considered by many as the top two talents in this year’s class, with Fultz being projected to be taken No. 1 by the Boston Celtics. Rashad McCants says he ’s wearing Big Baller Brand ’s ZO2 shoe in the BIG 3 league.

Still, it’s amusing to consider the potential, as it was amusing to see Fultz ponder then reject the idea out of a desire to not want to make an opponent money.

Magic Johnson reportedly ‘in love’ with Markelle Fultz, may try to trade up to No. 1 .
As it turns out, the Philadelphia 76ers may not be the only team in hot pursuit of the Boston Celtics’ No. 1 overall draft pick. According to a report by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress on Friday, Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson is “in love” with presumptive top selection Markelle Fultz and could attempt to trade up to No. 1 by offering forward Julius Randle and the No. 2 pick. Givony also adds that Fultz “murdered” a recent workout with the Lakers.Multiple sources have told me that Magic "is in love" with Fultz. May try to move up to #1, possibly with a Julius Randle + #2 pick offer.
