According to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, someone on the field during the incident said Montgomery felt "woozy" after being struck.

Montgomery was recalled Friday by the Bronx Bombers to replace the injured CC Sabathia, who went on the disabled list due to right knee inflammation. On Saturday, the Yankees lost another of their starters to injury when Masahiro Tanaka was also placed on the DL, but with inflammation in his right shoulder.

Montgomery, a southpaw in his rookie season, has put up respectable numbers in his first MLB campaign. In 21 starts, he owns a 4.05 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 115 2/3 innings.

Todd Frazier ignites Yankees offense to 11-5 win over Blue Jays .
TORONTO -- Todd Frazier had mostly struggled since joining the Yankees -- until Wednesday night. Frazier had three hits -- including a homer -- scored four runs and drove in three more, leading the Bombers to a 11-5 victory over the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. The 31-year-old third baseman came in hitting .207 (12-for-58) since being traded to the Big Apple. Gary Sanchez (18th) and Frazier (third as a Yankee, 19th overall) connected for back-to-back homers leading off the second inning. The Toms River, N.J. native added a huge two-out, two-run double in the fifth to give the Yankees a 5-2 lead. Didi Gregorius (three hits) added his 18th homer in the third. Ronald Torres posted two hits and two RBIs. Jacoby Ellsbury contributed a double and two RBIs. The ever-inconsistent Masahiro Tanaka was all over the place, walking a career-high five and failing to complete five innings. His final line: 4+ IP, 2 H, 3 R (2 ER), 5 BB, 2 K, 1 HR. Tanaka has given up 28 homers this season -- including one to Jose Bautista leading off the fifth. Yankees starters have produced five or fewer innings in 13 of the team's last 24 games. Five relievers would be needed to wrap things up. Sanchez committed his 11th error of the season on a catcher's interference leading off the third. The batter, Raffy Lopez, ultimately came around to score. Clint Frazier -- in a 5-for-33 slump -- was a late scratch to the lineup due to oblique tightness.
