The Oilers announced the trade Tuesday night on their Twitter account. Cammalleri has three goals and four assists in 15 games with the Kings this season. The 34-year-old Jokinen has one assist in 14 games with Edmonton this season. The Oilers signed Jokinen to a one-year deal as a free agent

The Los Angeles Kings acquired forward Jussi Jokinen from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Michael Cammalleri on Tuesday.

Jokinen, 34, has played in 14 games with the Oilers this year, recording an assist and two penalty minutes. He carries a $1.1 million cap hit.

Cammalleri, 35, appeared in 15 games this season with the Kings, scoring three goals while adding four assists and a plus-1 rating. He carries a $1 million cap hit.

The 6-0, 191-pound Jokinen played for the Oilers, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars during his 13-year NHL career. In 905 regular-season games he has posted 547 points, a plus-2 rating and 367 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Cammalleri has 620 points, 411 penalty minutes and a minus-50 rating in 855 career NHL games.
