“She was such a beautiful girl,” Rita Brown, Annabelle’s grandmother, told the Express-News last week. “I just don’t know what else to say except I’m going to miss her so much. She was the light of my life.”

Frank and Sherri Pomeroy were out of state when the massacre occurred. Annabelle was sitting alongside Richard and Therese Rodriguez, who were also killed and whose funeral was on Saturday. Officials said the killer, Devin P. Kelley, 26, of New Braunfels, fled when a church neighbor shot him twice. Kelley crashed his vehicle shortly afterward and shot himself to death.
