Thai authorities and representatives for Elon Musk are discussing the possibility of using resources from Musk's companies to help rescue the boys' soccer team that is trapped in a cave, Bloomberg first reported.

A representative for Musk confirmed the discussions to Business Insider.

According to Bloomberg, Musk may offer Tesla's Powerwall home batteries or technology from SpaceX or the Boring Company to help locate and rescue the team, though Thai officials have not announced whether they will use Musk's resources.

On Thursday, Musk said on Twitter that he was "happy to help" the Thai government in its rescue effort "if there is a way to do so."

The former SEAL died at 2:00 a.m. Friday due to a lack of air while attempting to return to a command center, located two kilometers (1.2 miles) inside the cave, where the young soccer and team and their coach have been trapped for almost two weeks. A huge operation is underway at the Tham Luang Nang Non cave complex, where dozens of Thai Navy SEALs and international experts are attempting to find a way to get the boys out.

Elon Musk has said he is "happy to help " if there' s anything he can contribute to the rescue mission of a Thai soccer team from a cave . The team has been stuck for nearly two weeks, and authorities are finalizing their rescue plan after finding them earlier this week.

In the race to rescue a Thai youth soccer team trapped in a cave before impending rain from a monsoon hits, Elon Musk is offering his help . When a Twitter user asked Musk if there was any way he could help get those 12 Thailand boys and their coach to safety, the billionaire tweeted

Musk later said The Boring Company is proficient at digging holes and has radar technology with underground detection capabilities. He also said he could send Tesla's commercial Powerpack batteries or water pumps to help remove water from the flooded cave.

On June 23, 12 members of a Thai soccer team and their coach went missing while hiking in Northern Thailand. They were found alive in a flooded cave on July 2, about 2.5 miles from the cave's entrance.

Authorities have been pumping water out of the cave in an effort to create a path for the boys and their coach to exit the cave on foot, but it is uncertain if they will be able to remove enough water before this weekend, when the area is expected to be hit by heavy monsoon rain. The boys are also receiving swimming lessons to prepare them for a potential rescue operation led by Navy divers.
